HOUSTON, August 3, 2023 — Asia Society Texas is partnering with local businesswomen Cassie Ghaffar and Sandy Nguyen to present a cafe pop-up merging their Houston food establishments Saigon Hustle and Sunday Press.

For two weeks while Java Lava Cafe staff are on break, visitors at AST can enjoy a new menu of items including banh mi, milk tea, Japanese-inspired sandos, and more. Saigon Hustle and Sunday Press will operate during Java Lava's normal hours of Tuesday–Sunday, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Drawing on their diverse backgrounds, native Houstonians Ghaffar and Nguyen cofounded hospitality group Ordinary Concepts in 2019 with the goal of revolutionizing the quick-service restaurant industry. Originally launched as a ghost kitchen in 2020, Saigon Hustle opened in Garden Oaks in early 2022, while Sunday Press opened in fall 2021.
