Admission

Admission to the building and Fayez Sarofim Grand Hall exhibition is free.

Admission to the Louisa Stude Sarofim Gallery is free for Asia Society members and children ages 12 and under, $5 for seniors (65+ with ID) and students (with ID), and $8 for nonmembers.

Parking

Asia Society's parking lot is located directly across the building on Southmore Boulevard. Enter from either Caroline Street or Austin Street.

  • Entry: $7.00 (credit/debit card only)
  • Asia Society Members will continue to pay only $5 for parking. Please use your credit card to access our parking, and visit our front desk where the actual charge of $5 will be made on your card.
  • Prepaid parking is available to patrons attending many of our programs. Please see the parking section in our ticketing policies for more information.

Bicycle racks are available in the parking lot at no cost, and are located in the southeast corner near the intersection of Southmore Boulevard and Austin Street.

Directions

The Texas Center is a five-minute walk from the Museum District METRO Rail Station.

Metered street parking is available via ParkHouston. There is a 4-hour time limit for all metered street parking in the Museum District.

From 59 South

  1. Start out going north on US 59, Southwest Freeway
  2. Take the Main Exit
  3. Turn right onto Main
  4. Turn left onto Southmore

From 59 North

  1. Start out going south on US 59, Southwest Freeway
  2. Take the Fannin Exit
  3. Turn slight-left onto Fannin
  4. Turn left onto Southmore

From 288 South

  1. Start out going north on TX 288, South Freeway
  2. Take the Southmore Exit
  3. Turn left onto Southmore

From 288 North

  1. Start out going south on TX 288, South Freeway
  2. Take the Southmore Exit

Accessibility

Assistance for Guests with Limited Mobility

  • A wheelchair is available for guests to use at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis. The wheelchair may be requested at Guest Services.
  • A wheelchair ramp is available for access to the Brown Foundation Performing Arts Theater.
  • Wheelchair-accessible seating is available for all programs and events.
  • An elevator is available with access to both floors of Asia Society Texas Center.
  • Accessible parking spots are located in our lot in the southeast corner, near the intersection of Southmore Boulevard and Austin Street.

Additional Offerings

  • Text captions for exhibitions currently on view are available in large-font format. The texts may be requested at Guest Services.
  • Assistive Listening Devices are available for many programs and events. The receiver and headset may be requested at Guest Services.

Service Animals

  • We welcome service animals that are trained to work or perform tasks for guests with disabilities.
  • Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless these devices interfere with the service animal's work or the guest's disability prevents the use of these devices. In these cases, the guest must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
  • Service animal relief areas are located outdoors on any of the grassy areas.

Additional Visitor Information

First aid supplies and a cloak room are available at the Guest Services desk. If you lose or find an item at Asia Society Texas Center, please report it at Guest Services.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located on the first floor of Asia Society Texas Center. The family/unisex restroom includes a changing table. All restrooms are wheelchair-accessible.

Prayer Spaces

Designated prayer spaces are available for guests attending programs and events. Please inquire about prayer spaces at Guest Services.

Firearms Policy

Pursuant to Section 30.05, Penal Code (criminal trespass), a person may not enter this property with a firearm.

Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun.

Pursuant to Section 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with an openly carried handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly.
