Adventures of Asia Spotlight: Asian American Stories

As part of Asia Society Texas' online learning platform, Adventures of Asia is designed to be a highly engaging way for students to learn about Asian and Asian American cultures, history, and life. The interactive webcomics website features a collection of 14 original stories set in the U.S., China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam.
In contrast to the many collections of webcomics and manga available online, Adventures of Asia elevates the social context of each story by collaborating with authors and artists living in the country of the story's setting. Each webcomic has been crafted to help students investigate the world around them, recognize the perspectives of others, communicate their own ideas and understandings, and motivate them to take action in their own lives and communities.
While Adventures of Asia was designed for students, we invite readers of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy the comics! In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, we're highlighting our four U.S.-based comics and sharing a fun activity with each one.

About APAH Month at Asia Society Texas
Beginning in 2021, Asia Society Texas has celebrated Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with the Houston community and beyond through a curated calendar of events for 31 ways to celebrate over the 31 days of May. Spotlighting the traditions, talents, and contributions of Asians and Asian Americans, the calendar highlights the month's key Asia Society programming, providing a platform to showcase local artists, performers, educators, and leaders who contribute to the vibrant, multicultural tapestry of Houston while also featuring staff recommendations for our favorite music, books, movies, and more by Asian and Asian American creatives.
At Asia Society Texas, APAH Month is an opportunity to celebrate and honor Asians and Asian Americans and to uplift their stories to a broader audience as part of our goal to inspire our larger community to better understand one another through culture, conversation, and connection.
