About Night Market
Drawing inspiration from street markets commonly found in East and Southeast Asia, Asia Society Texas' annual Night Market festival celebrates Houston's arts and food scenes while also engaging visitors through thought-provoking exhibitions and all-ages activities.
In 2020, we transformed Night Market into an interactive virtual event highlighting dozens of local AAPI-owned restaurants and small businesses that were the first to feel the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Creating a space where audiences could learn about and order directly from these businesses, as well as enjoy interviews, cooking demonstrations, and stories, our virtual Night Market celebrated and supported Houston's vibrant and diverse AAPI communities.
Building upon the beloved in-personal tradition since 2013 and the success of our virtual event, Night Market 2021 returns in-person, followed by a launch of our At Home in Asiatown website. We welcome you to enjoy all the tastes, sights, sounds, shopping, and fun that Asia Society visitors have come to anticipate and love.
