ASPI President Kevin Rudd speaks with Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, president of the United Nations General Assembly, about the crucial role of multilateral institutions during the coronavirus crisis.

Video: COVID-19: The Global Economic Fallout
ASIA SOCIETY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, April 21, 2020 — Asia Society Southern California hosts a panel discussion with three world-renowned investment experts — John Emerson, Howard Marks, and Dr. Weijan Shan — who share their insights into the implications of COVID-19 for the global economy. The panelists discussed the current state of economic activity in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, looking at how the demand-and-supply shocks produced by the crisis have impacted various sectors, trade, FDI, and global GDP growth forecasts. The discussion was moderated by Jonathan Karp and chaired by Richard Drobnick.

December 12, 2019 — In this episode, longtime television correspondent Dan Harris is joined by the renowned scholar of Tibetan Buddhism Thupten Jinpa. Jinpa is a former monk who has been the principal English translator for the Dalai Lama's writings for more than three decades. Their conversation focused on the recent emergence of mindfulness and compassion meditation into the mainstream, and touched upon how mindfulness can help people cope with everything from the scourge of school shootings to political discussions in an age of divisiveness.
