Screen Asia: "Enter the Dragon" and Costume ContestVIEW EVENT DETAILS
Due to inclement weather, the film screening will be moved inside to the Allen Education Center. Guests are still invited to wear costumes, bring blankets and snacks; the cash bar will be available to purchase beverages.
Join us for a free screening of the cult classic Enter the Dragon. International superstar Bruce Lee is an undercover operative competing in an international kung fu tournament hosted by a reclusive crime lord. This feature, which was deemed culturally significant and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the US Library of Congress, was the first Chinese martial arts film produced by a major Hollywood studio. Enter the Dragon also marks the first on-screen appearance of both Hong Kong film legends Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, who has a cameo in a fight scene.
Come dressed up in your favorite costume inspired by the film, Hong Kong culture, or martial arts for a chance to win a special edition copy of the film and a complimentary one-year membership to Asia Society Texas Center. No check-in for the costume contest is required. Simply be in the Allen Education Center between 7:45 and 8:00 pm . We will call contestants to the stage and the winner will be decided through audience applause. The winner will be announced before the start of the film.
Please note: Attendees are not permitted to bring outside alcoholic beverages due to the event’s policy. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the event.
Runtime: 102 minutes
