Celebrate the incredible cuisines of Houston at this special tasting tour with Chef G and Graham Painter of Street to Kitchen!
Chef G and Graham Painter have curated a selection of stand-out, innovative chefs who are each presenting a dish that showcases their stories as chefs and, in turn, reflects the diversity and ingenuity of the Houston food scene. For this year's Homegrown Houston theme "All Asian, No Fusion," they have challenged an illustrious lineup of chefs to deliver their best take on traditional classics from throughout Asia. In addition to the tasting tour of Houston — featuring Vietnamese, Burmese, Thai, Indian, Japanese, and much more — the unforgettable evening also features music and access to the exhibition Xu Bing: Word Alchemy.
Tickets are inclusive of one dish from each chef/vendor, drinks, and entry to the exhibition.

About Street to Kitchen
Chef Benchawan Jabthong Painter has been cooking authentic Thai food her whole life. Growing up in North Central Thailand, she learned traditional and ancient techniques from her grandmother, who ran a popular neighborhood restaurant. When she and husband Graham moved to Houston from Thailand, they dreamed of bringing unapologetically authentic Thai food to America. Street to Kitchen is that dream.

About APAH Month at Asia Society Texas
Beginning in 2021, Asia Society Texas has celebrated Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with the Houston community and beyond through a curated calendar of events for 31 ways to celebrate over the 31 days of May. Spotlighting the traditions, talents, and contributions of Asians and Asian Americans, the calendar highlights the month's key Asia Society programming, providing a platform to showcase local artists, performers, educators, and leaders who contribute to the vibrant, multicultural tapestry of Houston while also featuring staff recommendations for our favorite music, books, movies, and more by Asian and Asian American creatives.
At Asia Society Texas, APAH Month is an opportunity to celebrate and honor Asians and Asian Americans and to uplift their stories to a broader audience as part of our goal to inspire our larger community to better understand one another through culture, conversation, and connection. For information about sponsoring APAH Month and other projects like this one, please contact Saleena Jafry at [email protected] or 713.496.9939.
