Asia Society at Home
Learn More
Each week, we'll share a variety of videos, articles, webcasts, and more from around the web — all curated by Asia Society Texas Center staff to reflect the broad interests and goals of our mission. On Thursdays, connect with art online and get a closer look at Asia Society and elsewhere.
Asia Society Texas on the Road
Asia Society Texas' touring exhibition Transcendent Deities of India: The Everyday Occurrence of the Divine is currently being featured at the Michael C. Carlos Museum in Atlanta, Georgia. Since many museums and galleries are closed at present, this Houston Public Media interview with curator Bridget Bray provides a way to experience the art virtually.

Art at a Time Like This
If you visited our exhibition We Chat: A Dialogue in Contemporary Chinese Art, you know the work of guest curator Barbara Pollack. Her newest response to the COVID-19 virus, Art at a Time Like This, features Asian and Asian American artists like Ai Wei Wei, Miao Ying, Zhao Zhao, and Amir H. Fallah.
How Can We think of Art at a Time Like This? is an exhibition without walls. Many artists have generously loaned the work to participate in the creation of a platform for free expression during a time of crisis. This may end in two weeks, two months, until November, or continue for long afterwards. In that vein, this exhibition will constantly expand, adding new artists regularly.
Visual Arts Around the World
Take the opportunity to visit North Korea through the eyes of photographer Matjaz Tancic. He shot a series of 3-D images there that connects viewers to people living and working in a country most of us likely won't have a chance to visit.
