As our global community continues its journey through these extraordinary times, great literature still has the power to bring us together. That is why this year, Asia Society Texas Center is partnering with Teamwork Arts, Inprint, and the Consulate General of India to bring JLF Houston online. We'll continue to celebrate the ideas, conversations, and books that have enriched our in-person events, while exploring a new array of global and local themes in a series of livestreamed and on-demand events.
JLF Houston will feature speakers including acclaimed Indian American author Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni; scholar and critical theorist Homi K. Bhabha; writer, literary translator, and book critic Jenny Bhatt; author of Daughters of the Sun: Empresses, Queens, and Begums of the Mughal Empire and Heroines: Powerful Indian Women in Myth and History Ira Mukhoty; author, screenwriter, playwright, and New Yorker staff writer Lawrence Wright; and British journalist Matt Ridley.
