Yōkai have invaded Asia Society Texas, and we need your help! In the Great Yōkai Adventure, adventurers will embark on a series of quests involving these mysterious creatures from Japanese folklore. You will encounter famous yōkai, like the kappa (water goblin) and kitsune (nine-tailed fox), while learning about the stories and artistic traditions behind these legendary figures.
The experience will include exploring the exhibition Yōkai: Scenes of the Supernatural in Japanese Woodblock Prints, creating your own art, and completing tasks for yōkai and other characters. Adventurers will earn a yōkai trading card for each quest completed; collect enough cards and you will earn a prize to take home with you!
Family-friendly yōkai-themed anime films will also be screened throughout the program. You are encouraged to wear costumes!
Registration required. Ideal for ages 6 and up.
