Asia Society Texas, in partnership with the Houston Korean Education Center, is pleased to offer a Korean for Teens class for youth ages 13-17 who would like to learn the Korean language at a beginner level.

Over the course of 10 weeks, students will experience a fun and engaging way to learn more about Korean culture and language. The online course will meet weekly over Zoom and offer instruction in in Korean language practice while also exploring different aspects of contemporary and traditional Korean culture, including music, dramas, literature, art, food, and history.
The Club offers a nurturing space for students to come together, while sparking excitement for further engagement with Korean language and culture.
The course does not require any prior knowledge of Korean to participate.
About the Instructor
Jihyun Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music as the Valedictorian and then earned a master's degree in composition from Seoul National University. She also graduated with a Master of Music from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Music at Rice University. She is experienced in teaching Korean language and music to all ages.
