Dr. Ricardo Nuila and "The People’s Hospital"

Schedule

Thursday, March 30, 2023
7:30 p.m. Book Presentation and Moderated Discussion
8:30 p.m. Reception and Book-Signing

Join Asia Society Texas and Inprint for a presentation of Baylor College of Medicine physician Dr. Ricardo Nuila's new book, The People’s Hospital, in which Dr. Nuila shares his insights and reflections on equality, access to healthcare, and the meaning of care.

In The People’s Hospital, Dr. Ricardo Nuila outlines the stories of five uninsured patients facing life-threatening conditions at Ben Taub, a public hospital in Houston that does not deny anyone access to care. Dr. Nuila’s narrative brings together personal biographies as they relate to the dynamics of the American healthcare system and the hope that lies with those advocating for healthcare to be more affordable, accessible and compassionate.

Books are available for a discount if pre-purchased via our RSVP link. Books will also be available for purchase at the event, and there will be an on-site book-signing following the program.
