HOUSTON, June 26,2024 — Asia Society Texas (AST) is excited to announce a collaboration with Ordinary Concepts partners Sandy Nguyen and Cassie Ghaffar to bring Sunday Press to AST’s café. Sunday Press at Asia Society Texas will serve breakfast and lunch featuring Sunday Press’ distinctive pastries, sandos, and coffee alongside a special selection of items from Saigon Hustle’s menu. The café is currently previewing the menu with the full opening slated for July 3. Regular operating hours are Tuesday – Sunday, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Previously occupied by Java Lava Café, the space transitioned following the retirement of owners Su and Linh Nguyen, who have returned to Hawaii to focus on their Kona coffee farm. “We extend our warmest gratitude to Su and Linh for offering the neighborhood and our guests a wonderful café experience over the last two years,” says AST President Bonna Kol. “During our exploration for a new partner, Sunday Press rose to the very top due to their creative and delicious menu items! Led by the dynamic duo — Cassie and Sandy — guests can expect to enjoy unique flavors and a delightful experience.”
After a successful pop-up experience at AST last summer and several festival collaborations, “we are thrilled to announce our exciting collaboration with Asia Society Texas! As native Houstonians and long-time advocates of the organization, this partnership feels like a natural fit. Having grown up attending the vibrant festivals and events hosted by Asia Society, we are excited to contribute to its dynamic community,” says Sandy Nguyen.
Serving both breakfast and lunch, the menu will offer a range of grab-and-go items including salads, sandwiches, acai bowls, and chia puddings, in addition to paninis, banh-mi, and rice and vermicelli bowls. Guests will also enjoy Sunday Press’ signature croissant swirls, coffee and espresso drinks — such as their black sesame latte — and desserts.
