Mahsa Vahdat & Mighty Sam McClain
VIEW EVENT DETAILSCrossroads Asia
Persian melodies and American blues traditions are celebrated as Mahsa Vahdat and Mighty Sam McClain join forces to kick off Asia Society Texas Center's new Crossroads Asia program series. The concert will feature music from the duo's world music chart-topping album A Deeper Tone of Longing: Love Duets Across Civilizations.
In songs like "My Heart Doesn't Know Borders" and "Coat of Dreams and Silk," English and Farsi lyrics intertwine with classical Persian strains and easy soul-blues rhythms for achingly beautiful harmonies that elicit a yearning for a world without cultural divides. Join us for this spirit-lifting musical journey.
