The Eastern Hemisphere presents tremendous opportunities for oil and gas companies, ranging from deepwater drilling to liquefied natural gas (LNG) to shale. Damian Chan, Singapore Economic Development Board’s International Director for Americas, will paint a picture of the growth opportunities and how his organization can help companies develop in the region, leveraging Singapore as a strategic and neutral vantage point. He will provide an update on the latest initiatives of the Singapore Government to tackle the technical challenges and harness the opportunities for oil exploration and production in the Eastern Hemisphere.

About Damian Chan

Mr. Damian Chan was appointed International Director for Americas in July 2011. He leads Economic Development Board's (EDB’s) operations across North and South America, working closely with global companies here to help them succeed in Asia via Singapore. Previously, he was the Director of Electronics Cluster Group in EDB where he oversaw the promotion and development of the Singapore Electronics industry, which contributed to about 7% of Singapore’s Gross Domestic Product. Prior to that, he was the Centre Director of EDB Dallas Centre from 2002 to 2005, and of EDB Chicago Centre in 2001. He joined EDB in 1996.
