Museum Salon 3: Around the World in the Arts
NEW YORK, July 23, 2020 — How has the arts industry coped with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic? Paris-based visual artist Lee Mingwei, Taipei-based pianist Pei-Yao Wang, and Seattle Art Museum curator of Japanese and Korean Art Xiaojin Wu bridged four time zones to share their thoughts on the often interactive and experiential nature of the arts. The conversation, moderated by Asia Society Assistant Director of Global Arts & Collections Kelly Ma, highlighted how the arts have adapted to the global pandemic and the panelists’ outlook for a post-COVID-19 world for the cultural sector.
