LOS ANGELES, April 23, 2016 — After the 2016 Oscars featured stereotypical jokes directed toward Asians, two dozen Academy members of Asian descent wrote a letter to Academy leaders expressing their dismay. The Academy organized a meeting, and discussions are ongoing.
