Chinese Tea Ceremony and Homemade Dim Sum
VIEW EVENT DETAILS[INVITATION ONLY] Let's start the new year with a sip of serenity
To welcome the new year and celebrate new beginnings, we invite you to join us for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, homemade Dim Sum, and an introduction to the fascinating world of tea.
Tea may first have been consumed in China as early as 4'000 years ago – since then, the fragrant beverage has had a profound impact on much of Asian culture. In fact, the quest for a drinking vessel that wouldn't alter the flavour of the finest teas (unlike wooden, metal, or clay cups) spurred the development of Chinese porcelain. This, in turn, played a pivotal role in both the Chinese and later global industries and trade. During the Tang (618–907) and Song (960–1279) dynasties, tea drinking, teashops, and the incorporation of tea into poetry and art became part of the fabric of Chinese life. Manuals were dedicated to its production and usage, with one of the earliest being The Classic of Tea authored by Lu Yu between 760 and 780. Today, tea is the second-most-consumed drink in the world, after water.
We invite you to join us for a peaceful afternoon at the beautiful YuLu teahouse in Uster. After an introduction to the fascinating world and history of tea, we will experience a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony. After that, there will be plenty of time to continue the conversation in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy homemade Dim Sum.
We look forward to seeing you there and sharing a serene and enjoyable afternoon with you
