Inspired by Modern Indian Art: Works by New York City Students
Inspired by Modern Indian Art is part of a series of exhibitions that presents the work New York City students create in response to the great artistic traditions of Asia. This year, the exhibition presents student artwork inspired by the Asia Society exhibition The Progressive Revolution: Modern Art for a New India. Students from four New York City elementary schools visited Asia Society in the fall of 2018 to view the exhibition of paintings, sculpture, and works on paper. With guidance from teachers and teaching artists, the students created new works of art based on their observations and reflections.
Organized by Asia Society Museum in collaboration with Studio in a School NYC.
The exhibition is made possible, in part, by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
