Who is Leo?
Leo is short for leogryph, which is the symbol of Asia Society. Leogrypyhs are mythical creatures, combining the physical features of a lion and the mythical creature known as a griffin. A pair of Nepalese leogryphs residing onsite at Asia Society were the inspiration for the design of our logo. Throughout Asia, pairs of leogryphs often stand guard outside Buddhist temples, believed to protect the temple and those seeking enlightenment from evil forces.
