Asia Society at the 2016 Museum Mile Festival
Asia Society is excited to announce our participation in this year’s Museum Mile Festival. Next Tuesday, June 14, from 6 to 9 p.m., a stretch of the Upper East Side’s Fifth Avenue — also known as Museum Mile — will be transformed to a block party buzzing with family-friendly activities, live music, and free access to seven participating museums.
Asia Society will be stationed at 84th street outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where we will contribute to the festivities with a table of activities for kids and a live demonstration with Himapan USA, a New York-based studio that uses Thai lotus leafs to create unique and colorful works of art.
Swing by our table and learn more about our current exhibitions, including In & Out of Context: Asia Society Celebrates the Collections at 60 and Rewind: Selections from the Hal and Ruth Newman New Media Collection as well as programs coming up this summer. We'll have vouchers for free museum admission and discounts to AsiaStore and the Garden Court Cafe. And you can enter our raffle for a chance to win books on Asian art and politics, as well as a free year-long Asia Society membership.
