Discuss with Asia Society Members From Around the World

Virtual Members Get-Together

Most of us have probably travelled to different parts of the world, spent time in foreign countries and experienced other cultures. However, in the past two years, the world has changed fast and travelling has been much more difficult. Restrictions due to the pandemic are still ongoing in many places, the war in Ukraine is causing tremendous suffering. Also, climate change did not make a halt during these catastrophes.

How has daily life changed? What shifts have there been in politics? What social challenges are we facing? What chances did the pandemic bring? And what has remained the same?

Asia Society Hong Kong and Asia Society Switzerland are co-hosting a virtual Members Get-Together to discuss the diverse experiences of our members in different parts of the world. Whether you live in Zurich, Hong Kong or any other place, get to know Members from our global Asia Society network, share your knowledge and learn from each other.

How does it work?

  • Choose the topic you are most keen to talk about during the registration (topics are below)
  • After a short introduction, we will split in smaller groups to chat in our “breakout rooms” according to your topic preferences. But don’t worry, you don’t have to stay on the topic the whole time, you are free to talk about whatever comes up!
  • After 15-20 minutes, we will reconvene and split up in new groups.

Topics:

  • How closed borders have impacted our views of our own country/city
  • How the pandemic impacts the political situation
  • Warm Swiss winters and even warmer and extremely wet Hong Kong streets: how we navigate the effects of climate change

This event is for Asia Society Members only. How to become a member?
