Video: Ian Bremmer on the US, China and a New Cold War

U.S.'s and China desires to avoid a new "cold war" are evident in U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's efforts to work with her Chinese interlocutors over the recent crisis regarding Chen Guangcheng. However, geopolitical analyst Ian Bremmer, author of the new book Every Nation for Itself: Winners and Losers in a G-Zero World feels there are structural differences in the way the two countries operate, and as a result both sides must try very hard and accept the conflicts.

"China is growing — it is going to take the mantle as the largest economy from the United States," Bremmer said at Asia Society Studios in New York last month. "When the U.S. took the mantle from Britain it wasn't such a big deal because we, frankly, agreed on most stuff. U.S. and China don't."
