Video: Chinese Journalists Said 'We Wish We Could Have Done This'
Asia Society recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Osborn Elliott Prize for Excellence in Journalism on Asia with a discussion about reporting on China. During the talk, veteran journalist and news anchor Garrick Utley asked Bloomberg News reporter Dune Lawrence about the impact of this year’s winning series, which was an investigation into wealth and China’s ruling party.
Lawrence, part of a team of reporters and editors who contributed to “Revolution to Riches,” said some Chinese journalists told them they wished they had the ability to report on politicians in the same way as Bloomberg News. She also noted the stories may be causing officials to limit access to the documents Bloomberg used to report the stories.
