"Strike a pose! Snap a photo! Share it with #BecomingRobot."
This is the invitation that we give visitors entering Three-Camera Participation/Participation TV, an installation that is part of Nam June Paik: Becoming Robot, the exhibition currently on view at Asia Society Museum. Viewers can take photos of themselves interacting with the installation and then share the images online. This kind of participation represents a key theme in the exhibition — Paik's lifelong goal of democratizing the process of art-making and his desire to infuse technology with a personal, human element.
Below is a showcase of some of our favorite Three-Camera Participation/Participation TV images that have turned up on Instagram. But, if you haven't had an opportunity to snap your own image, don't despair. Nam June Paik: Becoming Robot is still on view for two more weeks, closing Sunday, January 4, 2015.
