Anand Giridharadas on Jon Stewart: American Dream 'Still Alive'... in India

Journalist Anand Giridharadas, author of India Calling, appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night to talk about his book.

As a child of parents who immigrated to America, Giridharadas explained why he decided to move to India after college. Something had changed in India and for him, to which Stewart replied, "You were the embodiment of their American Dream and you are now going back because the American Dream was still alive—it was just alive in India."

Giridharadas said America should not fear the economic threat of India and China but rather respect the spirit of two and a half billion people who are creating "cultures of hope and cultures of creation."
