Art over Lunch: The Beauty of a Chinese Garden
VIEW EVENT DETAILSExplore a Piece of Asia in Zurich
After three months of virtual Art over Lunch only, we are happy to meet again in Zurich for a tour through the Chinese Garden.
The Chinese Garden in Zurich belongs to the group of temple gardens – the most high-ranking type of Chinese gardens – and was a gift from Zurich's sister-city Kunming. It was opened in 1994 and is now operated by Grün Stadt Zürich. On our guided tour, we will look at the allocation of plants and their medical, artistic and symbolic significance, and the contextualisation of the landscaping and the buildings.
For this tour, we will be accompanied by Gabriela Blumer Kamp, whom we already know well from vivid art tours at the Museum Rietberg. Gabriela has been giving guided tours through the Chinese Garden for more than ten years.

About Art over Lunch
Art over Lunch is a monthly event series for members of Asia Society Switzerland. Each time, we visit an exhibition or a special part of a collection with artists, curators and experts for 45 minutes followed by a small lunch. The tours are designed to give members a different view on the vast troves at the museums and galleries in the city of Zurich and provide an opportunity to mingle and discuss.
Art over Lunch is made possible with the support of Bergos Berenberg.
