Strategies for Post-2012 Global Climate Policy
NEW YORK, Jan. 22, 2008 - In December 2007, nearly 200 nations agreed at UN-led talks in Bali, Indonesia to launch negotiations on a new global pact to fight climate change. The resulting "Bali Roadmap" marks a new chapter in climate diplomacy after six years of disputes since the United States withdrew from the Kyoto Protocol, the existing international accord for combating global warming. A distinguished panel of diplomats and policy experts assesses the outcome of the Bali talks and the challenges ahead. Speakers include Marty Natalegawa, Robert Orr, and Joseph Aldy.
Marty Natalegawa is the Indonesian Ambassador to the United Nations since the 5th of September 2007. Marty used to be a speaker for the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
Robert Orr is the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Strategic Planning.

He is an invited contributor to the American Meteorological Society's Climate Policy blog, and served on the staff of the President's Council of Economic Advisers from 1997 to 2000, where he was responsible for an array of environmental and resource issues.
