Photos: 2012 Asia Society Annual Awards Dinner
NEW YORK, November 8, 2012 — Asia Society's 2012 Awards Dinner, held at at Cipriani 42nd Street, honored "outstanding leaders in their respective fields whose demonstrated vision, leadership and commitment have earned them global praise and recognition."
Honorees David M. Cote, Chairman & CEO of Honeywell, and Patricia A Woertz, Chairman/CEO and President of Archer Daniels Midland Company, each received Asia Society's Global Leadership Award, while and Washington SyCip, founder of The SGV Group and and Asia Society Honorary Life Trustee was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Jose L. Cuisia, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the United States, and New York Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney were among the 400 guests who attended the event, one night after a major storm buffeted a city that was still recovering from Hurricane Sandy a week earlier.
The evening also featured a musical performance by Myanmar's legendary composer and percussionist Kyaw Kyaw Naing.
