Asian American Designer and Author Showcases at AsiaStore

Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

To celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May, AsiaStore has invited a diverse group of Asian American designers and an author to showcase their unique wares and stories. From May 1 through June 12, Rosena Sammi, Shana Gulati, Raakhee Mirchandani, Disha Karale, Melissa Lew, and Dat Tran appear in person discussing their art, writing, and work. Wednesday, May 1 from 12-3 p.m.

Rosena Sammi's unique jewelry utilizes up-cycled sari fabric in bracelets and other accessories. Her workshop employs women from anti-trafficking organization Apne Aap, and proceeds from her Who's Sari Now? collection are also donated to the cause. Disha Karale combines her fascination with intricate henna designs and love of jewelry to create a collection inspired by the traditional henna patterns.
