Premier of Victoria Congratulates the Inaugural Melbourne Asia Game Changers
The Premier of Victoria, the Hon Daniel Andrews MP, thanks the Melbourne Asia Game Changer Award winners “for your ongoing commitment to strengthen the Asian-Australian relationship.”

The inaugural Melbourne Asia Game Changer Awards took place on Thursday 18 November 2021 at The Wheeler Centre.
Following a message from Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sally Capp, MasterChef host and writer Melissa Leong presented awards to three extraordinary women making a positive difference to Australia’s relationship with Asia: Daizy Maan, Ly Tran, and Leah Jing McIntosh.
The Premier said in a statement:
Victoria isn’t just proud of its diversity – we know it’s one of our strengths.
Because the people who come from abroad to make Victoria their home, bring new perspectives and enhance the way we grow as a community and as a state.
That’s why the Asia Game Changer Awards are so important. They celebrate those who believe in a better, more inclusive future and work tirelessly every day to achieve it.
The bond between Australia and Asia is one that Victoria has embraced for decades. It endures through the families in our communities and the shared goals our Government pursues with every nation in the region. I want to acknowledge the nominees for this year’s Asia Game Changer Awards and thank you for your ongoing commitment to strengthen the Asian-Australian relationship.
And on behalf of the Victorian Government, I send my deepest congratulations to Daizy, Ly and Leah for winning these prestigious awards.
