Attend an interactive Balinese dance workshop with members from Gamelan Dharma Swara and participate in a kid-friendly yoga class. And, don't miss Shraddha Nagaraj, a young, talented dancer of Bharata Natyam who presents a special performance. Pre-Registration is required for the Yoga Workshop and the Gamelan Dharma Swara Demo & Workshop. Space is extremely limited. Shraddha Nagaraj performing Bharata Natyam: 2:00 PM (Auditorium) Bharata Natyam is one of the oldest dance forms in India. Don't miss this special performance by Shraddha Nagaraj, a 12 year old prodigy who began learning dance when she was three and a half years old and has since won prestigious awards in India for both dance and music. Truly a phenomenon for her age, Shraddha is also actively involved in choreographing her own dance sequences. Yoga Workshop: 12:00 PM - 12:45 PM (8th floor) Appropriate for children 4-11 years old If you thought Yoga was just the name of a bear, think again! Join us in exploring the benefits of this ancient Indian practice in a child friendly yoga class lead by instructor Ola Ahmad May. Participants will enjoy learning relaxing breathing exercises and basic yoga positions. Gamelan Dharma Swara: Demo and Workshop: 1:00 PM- 1:45 PM (8th floor) Appropriate for children 5-11 years old Explore how Indonesian dancers use gesture to tell stories! Master Balinese artists from NYC based Gamelan Dharma Swara conduct an interactive dance workshop that includes a demonstration. Create a flexible figurine! Ongoing Activity: 12:00 PM- 3:00PM (8th floor) Appropriate for children of all ages Using beads and pipe cleaners create a delightful figure that moves in playful and inspiring ways.
