About the workshop
This week of Summer Art Camp invites artist Ling Pui Sze to lead a workshop that children to create a Chinese ink painting with new methods. In this workshop, children will experiment with different materials, and to master the infiltration effect of different inks on paper, with collage, monotype and rubbing.
The artist will guide children to form a contemporary landscape ink painting with non-traditional brushstrokes and mixed media.
About the Artist
Ling Pui Sze was born in Guangzhou, China in 1989 and moved to Hong Kong in 1997. In 2012, she graduated in fine arts (BFA) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, receiving the Wucius Wong Creative Ink Painting Award at graduation. Her solo exhibitions include It all begins in the Sea (Gallery Exit, Hong Kong, 2014) and Metamorphosis (Ch’ien Mu Library, New Asia College, CUHK, Hong Kong, 2012). Joint exhibitions include Women + Ink | China + Hong Kong (Alisan Fine Arts, Hong Kong, 2019) and Under • Line (Sydney Edition) (107 Projects, Australia, 2020).
Ling Pui Sze has focused on experimental ink painting and collage by reconstructing abstract organisms and landscapes on canvas with cells and water microscopic images and satellite images.
