Embracing Resilience: A Dance
VIEW EVENT DETAILSDance Performance
Performance Sessions:
11:30am - 12:00pm - First Performance
3:30pm - 4:00pm - Second Performance
Taking place at Lippo Amphitheater and in collaboration with SHIFT Dance’s Director and Founder Kelsey Ang, this one-day dance event is a 'resilient'-themed response and homage to Hong Kong, a city that continuously perseveres through constant changes and upheavals. The four-person performance, with unique sound elements of the city, uses movement to capture memories and stories of both old and modern HK. This also aligns with the theme of our current exhibition “Recovery, Resilience, Resurgence” at our Chantal Miller Gallery, on view until September 30, 2022.
Kelsey Ang is a dancer trained in Hong Kong and the Philippines. She studied in Los Angeles where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double degree in Dance and Marketing from Loyola Marymount University. As an Educator and Director of SHIFT Dance, the dance program brings internationally-renowned artists to Asia and teaches dance to people of all ages, from ages 5 – 15 children to ages 35 – 90 adults.
