Yet at a time of extraordinary economic stress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the rules of the game are changing. To protect Australia’s national interest, the Australian Treasurer has recently announced temporary but significant changes to Australia’s foreign investment regulations. If foreign investment is key to Australia’s economic recovery, understanding and navigating this new regime will become critically important for Australian business leaders and investors.
