Asia Society Australia and Macquarie University enter the second year of a collaborative scholarship enabling Macquarie University students to undertake long-term exchange programs at leading universities across Asia.
his reception event welcomes back the first cohort of scholars who have now completed their mobility experience and farewells the next cohort. Students will hear from Asia Society Austalia member, John O'Doherty, Head of Public Affairs at the Blackmores Group. John has had a successful career in media, government and the corporate sector. His current work takes him frequently to Asia. John will share his insights and experience in working and succeeding in an international and culturally diverse environment and how his own exchange experience (at Peking University) has helped shape his career.
This unique partnership between one of Australia’s most internationalised universities and a prominent global non-profit organisation dedicated to Asia will enable 50 of the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students to deepen their understanding of Asia and strengthen their interpersonal, academic and professional capabilities to be Asia-engaged and globally competent leaders each year.
