Leaders on Asia | A Fresh Look at Indonesia
VIEW EVENT DETAILSAustralian business should take a fresh look at Indonesia, the powerhouse nation on our doorstep and soon to be among the largest economies in the world. With a strong middle class — 52 million and growing — forecasters predict Indonesia's post-COVID recovery will be a testament to the country's resilient growth and commitment to reform.
In 2020, the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) was entered into force, giving Australian businesses major advantages in the Indonesian market. To assist Australian companies to take advantage of the Agreement and deepen their engagement with Indonesia, the Australian Government has produced a “Blueprint for Trade and Investment with Indonesia”.
At this Asia Society Australia virtual public event, Australia’s Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the Hon Dan Tehan MP, will present the report and discuss the opportunities of the Indonesia market.
Minister Tehan will then be joined by prominent business leaders Felia Salim, board member of Indonesia Eximbank, and Andrew Parker, Asia Practice Leader at PwC, in a session moderated by Helen Brown of the Australia-Indonesia Centre, to discuss how Australia can deepen business engagement in Indonesia and capture the commercial opportunities on offer.
Date: Tuesday 9 November
Time: 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. AEDT
