Tony commenced delivering Welcomes four years ago when his mother, Aunty Doreen Garvey-Wandin (Senior Wurundjeri Elder), gave her blessing for Tony to take on this cultural duty.

Tony has a particularly deep connection with Coranderrk – a former thriving Aboriginal

Station in Healesville. Tony takes great pride in being a Wurundjeri descendant and with his strong past and contemporary connection with Coranderrk.

Passionate about intercultural learning and youth engagement, Eloise was previously the Project Coordinator for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program and has served as a board director and qualified trainer for AFS Intercultural Programs. In 2021 she was named a young woman to watch by Young Australians in International Affairs.

In 2018, Belle founded Future Female as a conference and network for international students and multicultural women. Future Female has welcomed more than 1,600 women from around the globe, promoting diverse women and youth leadership. Belle also served as the National President ‘20/21 at the Council of International Students Australia (CISA) after serving two years as the National Women's Officer. In the role she represented over 550,000 international students in committees, conferences, board meetings, advisory groups and in the media. Belle has been recognised as the Monash Faculty Gold Medalist in 2017, Victorian International Student of the Year in 2019, and a Victoria Volunteering Leadership Award finalist 2022.

Outside of work, Nick is passionate about social impact in the realm of education and gender equality. His interest ranges from foreign direct investment, economic development, to global affairs, and the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Australia. He also has a passion for translating Western works on philosophy, theology, and classical liberalism from English to Vietnamese.

Prior to joining KPMG in March 2018, Stuart was the inaugural Global Managing Partner of King & Wood Mallesons, based in Hong Kong, having led the combination of those law firms in 2012. Stuart was a partner at King & Wood Mallesons for 20 years, first practising as a capital markets, securisation and financial markets regulatory expert, and then holding a number of management and leadership roles across the firm and the capital markets industry in Australia.

Stuart is a member of the UNSW Law Advisory Council. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of laws degree from the University of New South Wales.

She co-founded the Christmas Island Youth Summit, the first ever leadership series for young people on Christmas Island. She has been published by Gucci America, Vogue Australia, SBS Australia and Al Jazeera. In 2021 she was the inaugural winner of the Under 25’s Asian-Australian of the Year, and in 2022 she was named the Multicultural Young Person of the Year.

Building on his experience generating industry partnerships for education providers through an APEC and ASEAN lens, he has also advised national governments and federal departments on policy and levers that enable Australian providers to engage on opportunities across the region.  

Emily is an Australia-Southeast Asia relations specialist. She has interned at Invest Victoria, where she researched key investors and start-ups in line with Victoria’s priority sectors, and prepared client briefs for Victoria's Commissioner to Southeast Asia. As the current Director of Operations at the Australia-Indonesia Youth Association (AIYA), she leads the strategic operations across the Australia Chapters, Indonesia Chapters, and Digital team. In her work, she has led projects that not only strengthen people-to-people links but engage with high-level partners including the Indonesian Foreign Ministry (Kemlu), Australian government departments, education providers, think-tanks and NGOs.

Emily is also passionate about investing her time in the wider Indo-Pacific region. She has worked as a Program Assistant at Generate Worldwide, an international affairs consultancy, managing the project delivery and communications strategy of the Australia-ASEAN CoLab, a DFAT-funded leadership program for social entrepreneurs in the region. She has been a Project Officer for the ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Partnership, where she organised Reset, an innovation challenge which attracted 1,000 applicants from Australia and ASEAN. She represented Malaysia as a Youth Delegate in the ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum.

Emily's work has led to her being selected by YAIA as one of the Young Women to Watch in International Affairs in 2022. Emily speaks fluent English and Mandarin, and is proficient in Indonesian.

Kim also oversees the International Research Partnerships Program and Pathway to Victoria Scholarships. In 2020 Kim managed the team responding to the impacts of the COVID pandemic on international students including through the Study Melbourne Student Centre. Kim was Counsellor (Education and Science) at the Australian Embassy Hanoi 2013 - 2017.

He soon found himself working for the ASEAN Secretariat and associated bodies on the development of their connectivity plan with a focus on youth development.

He later co-founded the ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Partnership with his NCP colleagues, founded on the principles of regional cooperation and youth empowerment. It has since become the leading youth voice on regional affairs, championing innovation in the youth sector while putting relations at the front of international relations.

Jeanette leads tech diversity programs at Monash University, contributes as EIR, mentor, and judge for accelerators like TechStars, Catalysr and RMIT LaunchHUB, and co-created the Gingerbread Demolition fundraiser for Save the Children Australia.

As keynote, MC, guest lecturer or podcaster, Jeanette has picked up the mic for the G20 YEA [Argentina], SXSW for G'Day USA [Austin], Women's Economic Forum [London], Google for Startups [San Francisco], General Assembly [Melbourne], ABC radio, Future Work Summit, SingularityU Australia – and many more.

Previously, Jeanette spent 14 years building innovation solutions, marketing strategies and digital products for some of Australia’s corporate giants including ANZ, AXA, AMP and Origin Energy.

Gabriela is an appointed member of the board of the International Education Association of Australia. She is the current President of the Young Economists Network (Victoria branch).

This leads to improved complex problem solving, new idea generation and enhanced growth and impact. Based on national surveys of Australian workers, the twin reports “Peak Human Potential” (2019) and “Peak Human Workplace” (2021) set out how organisations can create value in the digital economy through reimagining work as a pathway to innovation. Both reports have been widely endorsed, including by APEC, Engineers Australia, TAFE Directors Australia. His research helps shape policy outcomes, including the Victorian Government Inquiry into the On-Demand Economy. Sean holds a PhD in chemistry.

In addition to her work as a transactional lawyer, Tuanh has extensive experience advising Australian companies and not-for-profit organisations, and their boards on corporate governance and risk management issues.

She has received a number of legal industry awards for her work as a corporate lawyer, including the winner of the 2019 Women in Law Awards (Special Counsel of the Year) and a finalist in the 2021 Australian Law Awards (Dealmaker of the Year and Special Counsel of the Year).

Tuanh is also a Director in PwC’s D&I Consulting practice. Using Tuanh’s expertise in cultural diversity & inclusion, corporate governance and risk management, Tuanh works to support organisations enhance their equity, diversity & inclusion outcomes by driving change through leadership and organisational capability upskilling, workplace culture reviews, D&I strategy development and governance and policy reviews.

Tuanh is a strong advocate for cultural diversity & inclusion in the professional services (particularly law) and more broadly. She has a particular interest in promoting greater representation of culturally diverse women in the senior ranks of the Australian professional services and the Australian corporate sector.

She has spoken extensively and published articles on the issue of Asian-Australian representation in senior leadership of the legal sector, professional services and the Australian corporate sector. In 2020, she was recognised for her work as a cultural diversity advocate as a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian Australians as part of the Asian Australian Leadership Summit.

She is also a member of the Project Steering Committee member for the upcoming Asian Australian Leadership Summit (a summit which will bring leaders across various industries to address the underrepresentation of Asian Australians in leadership positions).

Tuanh holds board roles with CatholicCare Victoria and Vietnamese Museum Australia, and a member of the Governance Committee of Birdlife Australia.

Originally from Sri Lanka, Ms. Wickramanayake has worked extensively on youth development and participation, and has played a key role in transforming the youth development sector in her home country.

Prior to taking up her post, Ms. Wickramanayake was instrumental in creating the movement for civic and political engagement of young people, especially young women in Sri Lanka named “Hashtag Generation”. Previously, she advocated for global youth development on an international level including as the first ever Sri Lankan Youth Delegate to the United Nations and as the youth lead negotiator and member of the International Youth Task Force of the World Conference on Youth 2014 where she played a critical role in mainstreaming youth in the Post-2015 Process and in the establishment of World Youth Skills Day.

She was the founder of Australian Federation of International Students in 2002 and grew the organisation to service 8000 students during her tenure. Her role was  instrumental in helping to establish the International Student Care Service (predecessor to Study Melbourne). She has also held a senior manager position in the disability sector.

Wesa has received several awards for her contribution in the Multicultural and international students areas. In 2016 she was awarded the prestigious Victorian International Education Internationalisation Award in recognition of her work with international students for more than a decade. In 2013 she was the Australian Leadership Awardee from ADC Forum and named Young Victorian of the Year in 2010. In 2006 she received the Victorian Multicultural Commission’s Award for Excellence in Service Delivery to Multicultural Victoria.

Wesa also received the inaugural Scanlon-Swinburne Intercultural Fellowship and travelled to India and Malaysia to work with academics and government officials to better understand cultural diversity, diaspora and alumni networks in India and Malaysia.

Her tertiary education encompasses Engineering, Marketing, Law, Management and Governance. She is a current PhD candidate researching political skills and has a certificate IV in TAE.

Philipp is a China specialist with extensive experience in strategy, organisational renewal, policy and research. 

He is a co-leader of the Asia Taskforce by the Business Council of Australia and Asia Society Australia to advance Australian business engagement with Asia. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Australian Committee of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC). His commentary and analysis have appeared in The Australian, ABC, Bloomberg News, CNBC, The Australian Financial Review, Melbourne Asia Review and ChinaFile.
