Generation Asia Young Leaders Forum 2022
VIEW EVENT DETAILSReframing Asia Literacy, Building Asia Careers
As the world reopens, young people around the country and Asia are facing a region that is more complex than ever before. Defined by disruption, fragmentation, diplomatic and trade tensions, limited mobility and more, there has never been a more important time to foster Australia-Asia youth connectivity (and re-connectivity) and to equip next-gen leaders with the skills to thrive in a new era of global affairs.
In advent of UN International Youth Day, on 11 August join us at the State Library of Victoria, and online, as we bring the third national Generation Asia Young Leaders Forum to Melbourne. Exploring the theme ‘Reframing Asia Literacy, Building Asia Careers’, we bring 80 young leaders together in the room, and hundreds more online, for a half-day deep-dive into the changing nature of Australia’s Asia engagement, how young people can capitalise on new Asia skills, and how to build an Asia-engaged career path to ensure our future leaders ‘get’ Asia.
As we grow our Generation Asia pillar of work, in-person attendees will be invited to participate in an interactive workshop to conclude the forum, reflecting on the day’s outcomes and informing Asia Society Australia’s wider community on the value of Asia-capable young people by helping us create a piece of content that will live on past the forum. Following this, drinks are on us as we celebrate our Gen A ecosystem with a cocktail reception in the heart of Melbourne CBD.
