In late 2016, Alibaba Group plans to open an office in Australia servicing the Australian and New Zealand markets. The opening of this office will provide new opportunities for Australian companies to understand and utilise e-commerce channels into China and beyond. Set to surpass a staggering RMB 6.5 trillion in total volume this year, China’s booming online and mobile marketplaces are reinventing international trade.
Recently surpassing international competitors to become the world’s largest retail platform the Alibaba Group’s interests span not only ecommerce, but travel, foreign exchange, cashless payment, cloud storage and entertainment to name a few.
