Celebrate the easing of lockdown restrictions and join us for a VIP reception and masterclass in Melbourne with world-renowned musician and former Young Australian of the Year, Li-Wei Qin. An exclusive Universal Music China Artist, Li-Wei Qin has appeared all over the world as a soloist and chamber musician. A headline act who embodies the Asia-Australia relationship through his art, experience Li-Wei’s talent as he collaborates with top-tier students of music for an evening of performance and instruction.

The masterclass will be followed by an in-conversation between Li-Wei and MSO Cellist, Michelle Wood. Moderated by Asia Society Australia CEO Philipp Ivanov, the discussion will explore Li-Wei’s career journey and the value of music in maintaining our connection to the region. Guests will be able to meet both musicians for a VIP reception to end the evening.

This event is in partnership with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and is part of the Ears Wide Open Series.
