South Korea's 21st Century

2023 is a year of important milestones, including the 70th anniversary of the U.S.-Republic of Korea (ROK) alliance. The anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on this critical relationship, which has dynamically grown to encompass common values and a common vision of a free, prosperous, and open Indo-Pacific. The year also presents an opportunity to assess how the ROK’s vision to position itself as a Global Pivotal State has materialized. Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) will host a series of in-person programming events to showcase the key issues of global significance in which Korea can play a decisive role, including ways in which the U.S. and the ROK are creating joint solutions to tackle 21st-century challenges and promote shared interests.

Find below materials and videos from our recent convening, The U.S.-Korea Partnership Amid 21st Century Challenges, as well as other related ASPI work.
