The Holi Festival is one of the major festivals in India, celebrating the turn of the seasons from winter to spring. Also known as the Festival of Colors, it is a fun-filled celebration that gathers hundreds of people on the street to enjoy an entire day of dancing, eating and throwing colored powder at one another. The throwing of colored powder in the air (and at each other) symbolize unity, freedom and the color of everyday life!
As part of Asia Society's mission to promote Asian culture here in the Philippines, the organization together with its partners SINGINDIA MUSIC OF THE SOUL, INDIAN LADIES CLUB, FEDERATION OF INDIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE (PHIL.), INC., SM MALL OF ASIA, SM by the BAY invite you to experience one of the most fun festivals celebrated in Asia — the Holi Festival.
The event will be on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and will include the following:
- Presentation on the importance of this tradition
- Indian games — Rangoli, Tug-of-War, Khapdi, Dance Competition, Human Pyramid
- Throwing of the Gulal Powder
- Other Color Festivities!
- Raffle draw
Tickets will be sold at PhP 100.00 per person. Food can be bought at the food stalls present.
All participants are requested to wear white and be prepared to get messy! Bring your family and friends!
