This program includes a tour of William Lim’s upcoming exhibition at ArtisTree William Lim / Fundamental followed by a conversation about the presence of eastern elements in modernist architecture and design against the backdrop of post-war America and Europe; with a retrospective look at iconic works by masters and the influence that remains in today's practice. William Lim will be in discussion on the topic with designer and educator, Joshua Roberts and Asia Society Hong Kong Executive Director, S. Alice Mong. The exhibition explores Lim’s architectural and design work, with a parallel presentation of inspirational references. Presented as a comprehensive storyboard of sketches, materials, models and documents of more than 15 projects, the exhibition focuses particularly on the concepts, materials, forms and cultural values in Lim’s oeuvre and furthermore elucidates the understated deployment of Eastern elements that he incorporates throughout his practice.
