YGT Talk — ESG, What We Can Learn From Europe
VIEW EVENT DETAILSBreaking Down the Structure Needed to Support Sustainable Development
This past year has seen impressive performance from ESG investing; while the majority of the market took a hit from the pandemic, ESG funds remained comparatively stable and performed well. The EU is preparing to finalize the details on the EU taxonomy, a classification system that establishes a list of environmentally sustainable economic activities. As a leader in the ESG market, what are the ingredients behind Europe’s success? In this YGT Talk, we invite the Head of BlackRock Switzerland Dr. Mirjam Staub-Bisang, to share the journey of BlackRock in ESG investing. Joining her are Robert Heinecke, the CEO of Breeze Technologies, a German industry leader in air quality sensors, data and analytics, and Alex Wang, VP of Global Procurement & Supply chain of Orange Group and CEO of Orange Sourcing Consulting.
The discussion will revolve around the infrastructure and legal developments necessary to support the growth of an ESG market and sustainable development in general. What would be an ideal structure for future legality development to incorporate environmental and social aspects? What are the limitations in the existing regulations and legislation? What are the roles of an institutional investor when it comes to sustainable development? Tune in for a discussion on this hot topic from various perspectives.
