Conversations gives audiences an insider’s point of view from people producing, collecting, and exhibiting art. This lively forum ranges from single artists describing their practice to larger panels featuring distinguished artists, collectors, museum directors, architects, curators, critics, gallerists, and publishers. Presenting their current and upcoming projects, and reporting on the challenges they face, these speakers engage in dynamic, inspiring dialogs that give the audience a deeper understanding of the art world. After each panel, time is allotted for the audience to meet the participants in person.
To celebrate the first series of Conversations in Hong Kong, Art Basel, the Asia Society Hong Kong Center and the Absolut Art Bureau will host a warm-up talk. The panel brings together a group of artists from Hong Kong to discuss the past, the present and the future of Hong Kong in relation to their own artistic practices. Following the panel there will be a cocktail reception at Adrian Wong's art bar installation ‘Wun Dun'. The panel is held in memory of Jonathan Napack (1967 – 2007), Art Basel's first Asia advisor.
