Schedule: On-Call, estimated 3-4 hours per event
SUMMARY:
Asia Society’s volunteers support projects, programs, and events aligned with Asia Society’s mission of navigating shared futures for Asia and the world, from policy to arts, ideas, including on issues of shared interest and importance such as climate change. The Center on U.S.-China Relations’ China Programs volunteers will support Chinese-language initiatives including salons, events, and interchanges, including with Chinese nationals visiting or living in the United States. The volunteers will:
Translate documents from Chinese to English and from English to Chinese.Provide logistical and organizational support for the Center’s China events and exhibitions in New York City, including ushering and guiding visitors, communicating with partners, etc. Help communicate with Chinese speakers and visitors to the Center.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current graduate school student or recent graduate.
- Demonstrated interest in China, and/or in U.S.-China relations.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English. Ability to work on a flexible schedule.
- Must be available in person in New York City.
- Experience with organizing or assisting in the organization of public programs and events. (Preferred)
- Experience with successfully promoting events or initiatives via social media. (Preferred)
