Summer Endowment Intern, Development

Schedule: Max 30hrs/week; Monday – Thursday
Duration: 8 weeks
Summary:
Asia Society's Development department is seeking an energetic intern to assist in various activities across our dynamic team, responsible for fund raising from individuals, corporations, foundations, and governments. The intern will contribute to key departmental functions, gaining valuable experience in non-profit development at a global organization.
The intern will work on the Executive Floor at Asia Society's Headquarters in New York City. The intern will gain exposure to Asia Society's senior leadership, and receive mentorship and training on event planning and fund raising from experienced professionals.
Asia Society interns gain meaningful, real-world experience in a full project lifecycle: planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will develop marketable skills by actively engaging in various activities and projects.
Responsibilities:
Support the Development Team:
- Assist with planning, development, and execution of the marketing strategy for the annual Asia Game Changer Awards Gala, and other Development cultivation events.
- With the onboarding of Asia Society's new President and CEO, the intern might support in the preparation of meeting briefs and other support material needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Asia Game Changer Awards:
- Research major donors.
- Generate promotional and informational materials.
- Manage online communications.
- Assist with event coordination and logistical duties.
Marketing and Communications:
- Design and produce marketing collateral for upcoming events and projects.
- Support Development events such as the monthly Leo Bar by researching new partnerships.
Requirements:
Some knowledge of non-profit development operations preferred, with interest in international relations, arts, or education.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong time management, task management, and attention to detail.Data management experience (Salesforce or similar CRM preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
