Shoebox Camera Obscura

The camera obscura (Latin for “dark chamber”) was used to capture the image of the world before camera and film were invented. Using the physic of light, people project the outdoor image into a dark room or a box through a very small hole.
This workshop will build our own camera obscura with a shoebox that allow us to see the world in a very different way!
Workshop suitable for children aged 6-10.
Materials to be prepared:
- Shoebox with a lid (paint inside in black; but not necessary)
- hard card
- tracing paper, or cooking paper, or white plastic bag
- aluminum foil
- needle or paper clip
- scissors or cutter
- glue and tape
- ruler and pencil
