Parenting is more than just ensuring children’s health, safety and well-being. Parents are their children’s first teachers, serving as their learning models. Values imparted by parents and the examples they set will have a significant impact on the development of children, and becoming who they are. Their attitudes to education can inspire their offspring to take charge of their own education journey. With so many different parenting styles and methods, which one is the best? Besides being a renowned singer and author, Dr. Agnes Chan is also a parent of three boys who went to Stanford. With a doctorate in education, she will discuss parenting and its impact on children’s education. She will also explore the role of women today and how to successfully juggle home, children and career.
