Organizations globally, are facing a leadership crisis. Despite 46 billion U.S. dollars spent each year on leadership development, a recent Gallup survey concluded that 82 percent of employees find their leaders “uninspiring.” While most leadership training focuses on outward skills such as strategy, people management and finance, new research indicates that leadership should start inward — with the mind. Based on extensive research including assessments of more than 35,000 leaders and interviews with 250 C-level executives, The Mind of the Leader explores how understanding the workings of their own minds and training it for the most essential qualities, leaders can lead themselves effectively first, in order to better lead their people and tap into their human need for meaning, fulfillment and human connectedness. Co-author, Rasmus Hougaard will outline the mental qualities that are critical to becoming effective leaders.
